A vibrant sky at sunset looms over Helena Montana.
Some are calling the dramatic sunset moments before the 5.8 magnitude quake that rattled western Montana an 'earthquake sky' as reported in the The Montana Standard today.
Interestingly a similar vibrant sky occurred just before Montana's largest known and most deadly earthquake - the 1959 magnitude 7.3 Hebgen Lake earthquake in Yellowstone National Park. This has lead some folks to believe that brilliant colors in the sky may be harbingers of significant tremors.
