The full moon sets over Mount Helena and the "Queen City" of the Rocky Mountains, Helena Montana. The moon-set occurred at the same time as the sun rising behind me, creating a purple "alpine" glow. Named by Native Americans - February's moon is known as the "Snow" moon because the month is traditionally the snowiest in North America, or the "Hunger” moon since harsh weather conditions made hunting very difficult.
