The Milky Way arches over the Craig River Road the leads down to the famous fly fishing waters of the Missouri River. Two-thirds of Americans cannot see the Milky Way from their homes. Luckily here in Big Sky Country you can still have a real #MontanaMoment under the stars.
To see this spectacle for yourself - look east during the spring months during the very early hours of the morning (3-5 AM). Get far away from any artificial lighting. You'll need a clear, cloud-free sky and use the darkest days of the month, those where the moon is not an influence. The best Milky Way gazing is during week leading up to and after the new moon.
